Every year at Thanksgiving, I whip out the ingredients to make this vegetable turkey. My young son and nieces and nephews look forward to putting it together on the morning of Thanksgiving, and it’s one of the first things they do when they arrive.
I usually show them this picture, and they quickly assemble their vegetable turkey. They’ve modified what goes where over the years, but mostly, they stick with the same layout.
This year is my second year of hosting the Castle family in Connecticut, and as stressed as I was last year, I can say that this year I am feeling very relaxed and excited about it! I’ve bought some new decorations for the tables (which I will post after the holiday) and my husband and I won the turkey I will be roasting in a golf tournament!
Life is good.
One of the best parts is that I will have some little turkeys here (my kids, nephews, and nieces) eating all the yummy foods of the holiday, and I can’t wait to see how they’ve grown and watch them eat! They waste no time in making and eating this vegetable turkey!
Check out this post about giving pleases and thank-you’s (aka manners) and this one will give you an idea for turkey day leftovers.
As always, I am grateful for your visits here and the community you bring to this blog.
Happy Thanksgiving! Share the turkeys you’ll be serving at Thanksgiving…:)
