Easy Egg, Ham & Cheese Bagel Sandwich

One day My Little Man came home from school and was ravenous.

He’s 12.

Growing like a weed. Feet bigger than mine. His snacks look like meals. He’s a giant in his twin bed.

And he’s hungry most of the time.

He asked for a bagel sandwich and I came up with this breakfast concoction, which he loved.  I’m sharing it with you, just in case you have a growing boy or girl.

Not only does this bagel sandwich sport some serious carbs, it’s also rocking the protein. Yes, that ham, egg, and cheese supply a whooping 21 grams of protein! Just what the growth process needs: protein.

Here’s how I make this bagel sandwich, and it doesn’t get much easier than this!

You will need:

1 bagel (any flavor)

1 egg

1 tablespoon water

1 slice American cheese

1 slice deli ham

Salt & pepper, as desired

Directions:

Slice the bagel in half and toast in the toaster. Scramble the egg and water together in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Use a knife to loosen the big, round, flat egg from the bowl, if needed. Assemble the sandwich by layering ham, egg and cheese on one half of the bagel. Top with the other bagel half.
